The Linux Conference - Tel-Aviv, February 25, 1999: CREDITS =========================================================== According to the feedback we got up to now, the Linux event was very successful, and attracted a big audience, which enjoyed and loved it. I, personally, received many "thanks" from people and visitors, some through the mailing list of ILUG, and some in other ways. However, there are many others who contributed to this effort, and they deserve thanks. All of them were helpful, and the help of some was important so much, that nothing could happen without them. The purpose of this message is to credit all of the helping people. I hope I didn't forget anybody; Please forgive me in case I did... Sponsors: -------- Before anybody else, let me thank the companies who financed this event. We contacted many companies, and these were the only who were willing to help. It must say something about their seriousness and commitment to Linux: * Oracle Israel * Compaq (DEC) Israel * PF1 Systems Organization: ------------ Natan Gavish and Dana Blechman of Oracle Israel did a great job in organizing the event. They also hosted the meetings, managed the negotiations with the various bodies (e.g. People and Computers), etc. Thank you! Lectures: -------- I want to thank all lecturers: * Dr. Yossi Vardi, ICQ * Dr. Joel Isaacson * Nahum Greenberg, PF1 * Haim Rotenberg, Oracle * Prof. Amnon Barak, MOSIX/HUJI * Marek Roll, Compaq and especially Yossi, Joel and Amnon, who didn't have any commercial interest in lecturing, but still were willing to do it. Installations: ------------- Special thanks to Seva (PF1) and Yoni Elhanani, for spending many hours for setting up the computer. Thanks also to some of the lecturers, who used their Linuxes for the lectures, and by this, saved us some demonstrations (e.g. we didn't need to install and demonstrate Wine, thanks to Joel who already has it and uses it). Thanks also to everybody who offered his help but couldn't come, or came but couldn't help because the computer was busy (Ofer Maor, thank you!). Translations: ------------ Thanks to Omer Zak and Iftach Hyams for translations to English. Internet Connection: ------------------- Thanks to IBM and ActCom, who offered us a free frame-relay line. Unfortunately, we couldn't use this gift, because of un-fair policies of Merkaz-HeYeridim, which wanted to charge us thousands of Sheqels for nothing. NO THANKS to Merkaz-HaYeridim. Misc.: ----- Uriel Ben-David (PF1), Yossi Eliani (Compaq), Hetz Ben-Hamo, Hans Zoebelein (for statistics information), and anybody I forgot. Last but not least: ------------------ Everybody who came, visited, enjoyed, or even only tried to come. See you again in the installation party on May 9. -- Eli Marmor *************************************************************** * ___ _ __ ___ __ _ |__ _ _ marmor@elmar.co.il * * | | | \ | | \ | / |\/ El-Mar Software Ltd. * * | | | _) | | _) / | \ Tel.: 972-50-237338 * * ___________________________ Fax: 972-9-766-1314 * * \_________________________ \ http://www.elmar.co.il * * _________ __ ____ \ \____ __ _ * * \_______ \ \_\| _ \ __ \____ \ \ \ | | * * \ \ | | \ \ \_\ \ \ \ \ | | * * \ \ | | _\ \ ) ) \ \ \_\_ * * \ \ |_| \___) (_/ \_\ \_\ * * \ \_______________________________ * * \________________________________\ * * * *************************************************
